Today, I staffed the reference desk. I also began conducting signage audit, examining the location and effectiveness of all of the library’s signs. The majority of Perry’s signs are made in-house and printed on standard printer paper. Given Perry’s limited budget, homemade signs could be fine, as long as they are well-designed and informative. Many of Perry’s signs are lacking in design and effectiveness. Ineffective signs point to items that have since moved, use small font sizes, and more. I documented many of them with pictures, which will be included in the final report.
