Today, I staffed the reference desk with Sharon and continued working on my sign audit. Sharon makes many of the signs. Today, she was specifically made computer number signs for the three computers that have had the monitors replaced recently. Her intention is for these signs to be temporary, but acknowledges that they may remain up for weeks, months, or even years. Therefore, she made sure they were well-designed and laminated for longevity, just in case.
I’m not the first person to take a look at Perry’s signage! Sharon shared a presentation, created for the Marketing class in 2012 by another intern at the library. This intern had many of the same critiques as me – and many of her pictures included the same signs that I am examining!
